User accounts for system administration, which are only used with user name and password, represent a high risk. Microsoft offers a free Multi Factor Authentication solution for Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365 Administrators.
Procedure:
- Open the Azure portal
- Open the Manage Azure Active Directory tile
- Click on User (menu on the left)
- Click on Multi-Factor Authentication (menu above)
- Activate the user accounts with privileged access to resources for MFA in the Multilevel Authentication window
